'Jogging or running is one of the most common forms of physical exercise,' the personal trainer states.
It can convert strength, physical fitness levels, mental well-being, and body composition. It is a good form of exercise for burning calories.
Engaging in running is an effective way to burn calories, but it can also be detrimental to your knees, implying it may not be a suitable activity for everyone to adopt.
If you have knee problems, visiting the swimming pool could be a better and more suitable option for your body to feel the benefits of exercise.
'Physique of swimming is a low-impact holistic exercise routine which is effective in burning a sizeable amount of calories,' Quinn states.
According to him, swimming 35 lengths in a 50-meter pool typically burns around 250 calories.
Engage in 25 minutes of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
Next up, Sam recommends performing approximately half an hour of high-intensity interval training, commonly referred to as HIIT.
"This very intense short training sessions with intervals have become a highly sought after form of exercise and an effective way to lose fat," Quinn says.
'High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) works by significantly elevating one's heart rate and placing additional strain on exercised muscles to burn a greater number of calories compared to slower activities such as walking, swimming or cycling.'
"It can help in strengthening the body's bones and muscles, while also improving cardiovascular fitness and heart health," Quinn notes.
'However, due to its intensity, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) should be approached with caution as it may not be suitable for inexperienced individuals, those with limited physical fitness, or people with underlying health conditions.'
Cycle 12 kilometres
If you don't enjoy the on-again, off-again nature of HIIT workouts, a more steady-paced cycle route might be more to your liking.
"Bicycling serves as a low-impact form of exercise that is often a very effective way of burning calories," Quinn explains.
It also offers a highly advantageous workout for your leg muscles should you choose to concentrate on this part of your body rather than the upper body training.
Engage in weightlifting for a duration of one hour.
If you'd like to focus on the appearance of your upper body, weight lifting is the most effective way to achieve this.
"There aren't a large number of calories burned during this activity, so it's necessary to continue it for an extended period to reach 250 calories. However, this type of exercise can contribute to improved body composition and increased lean muscle mass," Quinn notes.
